"To Speak is a REVOLUTION"

 — I Am Yours

 hi —

I’m REEMA

And this is Fia, my chihuahua-daughter.

I’m an author, screenwriter, and book coach, best known for my memoir I Am Yours (Amberjack, 2019). Fia is, obviously, my muse.

My essays have been published in Vogue, The Guardian, Salon, The Rumpus, The Huffington Post, and several other publications. You may know me from my TEDxTalk, The Power of Your No and the Authority of Your Yes, or from my viral interview with Cheryl Strayed on her podcast, Dear Sugars.

Additionally, I’m the creator of The Memoir Incubator. I’ve had the honor of coaching over a hundred clients (and counting!) on their journey to write the books of their dreams. My clients have gone on to land six-figure book deals with Big Five publishers.

Born in Bangladesh and raised in Hawaii and Thailand, I hold a double degree in Women’s Studies and Theater. Fia and I live in Los Angeles, where we write books, host dinner parties, help other writers unlock their magic, and burn down the patriarchy.

One word, one chapter, one book at a time.

We’re so happy you found us.

Our voices hold power. Together, we are a bonfire.

"Zaman writes beautifully of the pain and frustration of being a woman in a man's world..."

 — NYT Book Review

"Tender, fierce, compassionate, and wise... I was enthralled from first page to last."

 — Cheryl Strayed

“Reema Zaman is the writing coach every writer secretly (or not-so-secretly) wishes they had—part sage, part hype woman, part storytelling wizard... she’ll help you make it truer.”

“Reema’s feedback? Razor-sharp but wrapped in warmth... She gives you permission to trust your voice, take risks, and (gasp!) actually enjoy the process.”

“Reema isn’t just a teacher; she’s your personal literary fairy godmother.”
